Participant Safety and

Anti-Harassment Policy

Everyone deserves to feel safe.

The Endless Yard is a community event. Runners, spectators, crew, volunteers and staff must treat one another with respect throughout the race weekend.

Behaviour we do not accept

Harassment, unwanted sexual attention or contact, abusive or discriminatory comments, threats, intimidation, bullying, aggressive behaviour, inappropriate photography, deliberate interference with other runners, or retaliation against someone who reports a concern are unacceptable.

On-course etiquette

Give others space when overtaking and communicate with care. Do not touch others without permission. Use designated toilets and avoid exposing yourself where others may be present. Follow marshal instructions and allow faster runners to pass.

Overnight safety and welfare

The race may continue overnight. We will operate an event-control and medical plan appropriate to the venue and format. Runners must comply with lighting and kit requirements and report any immediate danger or welfare concern.

Reporting concerns

If you experience or witness behaviour that makes you feel unsafe, you can speak to race control or a designated welfare lead. You can also email hello@theendlessyard.com. For immediate danger, call 999.

How reports will be handled

We will prioritise immediate safety, listen sensitively, record only necessary information and decide on appropriate steps. Depending on the circumstances, these may include separating people, issuing a warning, withdrawing a runner, removing a spectator or crew member, or referring a serious incident to the police. Information will be handled as confidentially as reasonably possible, subject to safeguarding and legal obligations.

No retaliation

We will not tolerate retaliation against people who raise concerns in good faith. Reports concerning a member of the organising team may be made through the alternative reporting channel.

Our team

Staff and volunteers will be briefed on expected behaviour, escalation procedures and how to support someone raising a concern. Incidents and feedback will be reviewed after each event to identify improvements.
