WHAT IS A BACKYARD ULTRA?

A backyard ultra is a last-runner-standing endurance race.

Every runner must complete a 6.7056 km (4.167 mile) loop within one hour.

At the start of the next hour, the remaining runners set off together again.

And again.

And again.

Until only one remains.
