Fair Competition and Recognition Policy
Every yard deserves recognition.
The Endless Yard follows the open-ended backyard ultra format. Each event has one official last-runner-standing winner. We also recognise the achievements of runners throughout the field and aim to give women's performances equal visibility.
Overall results
Every participant's completed yard total will be recorded. The official winner is the last runner to complete one more yard than the rest. All other participants are technically DNF in the traditional backyard classification, although their yard totals are published.
Women's results
Women's results will be clearly available alongside the overall classification, subject to the category framework of our governing body and appropriate privacy arrangements. We will highlight women's leading performances and individual milestones without describing a category leader as a second official backyard winner.
Awards
If comparable gender categories or prize awards are provided, their value, prominence and presentation will be equal. Course records will recorded and awarded for male, female and non binary categories.
Season championship
All eligible runners may compete for the overall season championship. Each completed yard across the three 2027 rounds counts towards the cumulative total. In line with backyard rules, there can only be one winner. In the event of a tie break there will be no season champion.
Media coverage
We aim to provide balanced photography, interviews, race reports and social coverage, celebrating female runners across the field as well as those competing for the overall win.
Privacy and safety
A participant with an important safety or privacy concern about their published name can contact us. We will discuss the available options, taking account of any official results requirements. Category and eligibility queries will be treated confidentially, respectfully and under applicable governing-body rules.
